The Salariya Book Company is an award winning publisher, specialising in superbly designed, written and illustrated information books with a unique appeal for the younger reader. Many Salariya Books have been major international successes, with some titles translated into over 26 languages.

This Web site has been designed to introduce you to our current range of books, which can be accessed via the 'Book House Titles...' menu at the top of this page. If you want to find books within a particular genre, use the 'Book Topics' menu. When viewing the main Web pages follow the links to view different series and individual book titles. Click on the covers and book spreads to enlarge them — some spreads are interactive, showing special split-page views. Click on the links to see related book topics, check out reviews, or to order a book from Amazon. And don't forget to try the simple animations that appear at the top of most pages — like our books, every one is different!

The Book House Imprint
In May 2002 The Salariya Book Company launched its own imprint 'Book House' in the UK to publish its new titles. Other Salariya titles are published by Watts and Hodder Wayland in the UK. In the US Salariya books are published by Franklin Watts, Scholastic and McGraw-Hill.

Company Founder
David Salariya was born in Dundee, Scotland. He studied illustration and printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, specialising in book-design in his postgraduate year. He worked as a freelance illustrator and designer before founding The Salariya Book Company over 10 years ago. Working with talented authors and artists he set out to create and design children's non-fiction books that combined very high educational and editorial standards.
